I go away for a week to attend a funeral (and get the flu) and I come back and Interact is barely responding.  Is it just me or has it been really slow on-and-off today?

Are you up to something, or is it just a problem with us in the Northeast US here today? (I know its not just Adelphia Crapdelphia because it happened at home and at work).

I wouldn't say I've been experiencing general slowness, but episodic slowness all day.  Right now (at least the last few times I posted) it seems fine.  About 20 minutes ago though I clicked on a 2-3 threads in my usual way (middle click open in new tab style) and they took a massive amount of time to open.  This happened a number of times today.  A couple of minutes later I'd try again and they'd come right up. 

I guess I'm just wondering if it's just me!  It happened enough tonight that I'm sure others would have noticed if not and figured your crack admin team should be made awares if so...

Okay.  Its just done it to me a few times now, and it seems to be mostly related to (though not exclusively) posting.  If I'm posting it takes forever and then (of course) the other threads don't load waitng for the posting response.

OT to your OT--
I just signed up for the Handcuffadelphia ultrafast premium, and I gotta say I'm really impressed.  I'm getting 600kbps downloads, verified in Download Manager.  My ADSL through SBC was not even half of that.  So even though they took the porn off the cable and stole $40million to build a private golf course, I'd say the Rigases have done something right, for a change.

As for your original OT, I believe the issue is personal avatars vs antivirus.

I actually have their premium $60 line too and I'm pretty happy with it.  Not even that bad in price (relatively) when considering the cost I saved switching my phone line to Vonage too.  The service works well, so you rarely need to but I hope you never need to call them...

I have unfortunately needed a couple of things, and each time it was a nightmare.  Eg. when my roommate moved out it took me about 12 hours on the phone (literally), 6 telephone calls, and a 45 mile drive away M-F 8-4 appointment to get the account switched over to my name (and required me to lose my internet access for about a week).  Every time you call you get a different story!

I find now the best time to call is late at night.  I think the night-shift people are longer-tenured people (which is the way it was when I worked in a call center for 5 years) and tend to know what they're doing more often.  I try to never call Adelphia before 12:00am (midnight, EST), and then it's tolerable.

I see the sporadic non-responsiveness quite often.
Alex has mentioned it before too.
One of the replies in Alex's thread mentioned a problem with the forum software baulking when visitors were using the search functions...
