Could we have support for storing (and displaying) images in FLAC files, please?

The images could be stored in FLAC files using APPLICATION metadata blocks with an appropriate ID. Such an ID could be registered once for all at http://flac.sourceforge.net/id.html. Alternatively the image could be stored within VORBIS_COMMENT containing other tags that is already stored in a FLAC file. In this case there is a certain limitation to the size of an image that could be stored but this is enough for even very high-resolution album images.

Then, of course, MC and/or FLAC plug-in would have to handle this in an appropriate way. This would be very useful when moving files in and out of MC library.

That feature is on the long-range radar for the flac plugins, but as you note has not been implemented yet.

Well, having it in MC is good enough. Otherwise this would be the same functionality as provided in MP3 files. Therefore any application/appliance that supports FLAC could use it in the same way as MP3 stored images are used. Provided that they also jump on the bandwagon, that is.
