11.1.184 is very very slow when changing from one view of the database to another view.  Perhaps there are better ways to define views that will speed things up.  I am finding 11.1.  to be much slower than 11.0. 
Are there plans to improve the speed of the product.  I am running a fairly fast processor, but it seems to be really slow when mediacenter is running.  Any ideas?  Anyone else experiencing the problem??

Yes I am using views I created but are simple.  I do not consider any of them to be process intense.  I do have 26,000 songs in the database, but never had a slowdown before.  I do have a large number of views defined as I tried the Theatre view as well as net remote neither of which have worked very well. 
does a large number of defined views cause problems.  I have about 20 views defined and do split the screen sometimes, but when I change a view it takes 20 to 30 seconds for it to paint the screen.  I consider that slow...

No to the network drive.  I do have network drives, but my entire database resides on an internal drive.

Make a library backup.

Then try resetting your view schemes and sorting.  See if it makes a difference.

1-2 seconds to switch views is normal with a very large library.

I've actually been noticing this as well.

7-10 seconds is now normal for me... it's definitely a bit annoying but I've kinda gotten used to it.

I don't use network drives, have a library of about 65000 files (audio, videp, images & documents). Most view schemes have about 4 or five columns.

At what stage (library size or number of view schemes) should we consider slowdown reasonable. Or is this dependent on our computer?

We often test using a 150,000 track reference library.  It performs well when using a modern computer.

Often a slowdown is the result of using one slow expression in a pane or sort.  So if MC seems slow to show a view, try to simplify the view. 

For example, use less panes.  Don't use expressions for panes or sorting since they're doing much more work than simple database fields.  Don't add complicated search rules to the view scheme or Access Filter.

View schemes:
Menu > Edit > Reset All View Schemes To Default

Sorting:
Look at a view > "Options" at top right of view > Sort By Default
