Not Finding Cover Art *Still*
« on: August 21, 2006, 08:06:47 pm »

Why was the other thread closed?   this problem has not been resolved.  the newest version 11.194 doesnt do anything for the cover art downloading.  i have over 300 albums that used to be found by the server at least 90% of the time.   now i get absolutely zero.  this has been a problem for a couple months now.  extremely frustrating.

I too am not getting any art work.
Is it something specific to 11.1?

I've got the same problem, but then again, I have rarely succeded in retrieving from YADB. Is there a way to query YADB directly, to test for possible hits? Maybe a web page with artist and album search?

Was something changed regarding the source of the art, like perhaps the sites which are searched?
This has not been working well (if even at all) for some time it seems.

Many times YADB doesn't find the necessary art album cover
so I generally go to Amazon.com save as picture to my cover directory then attached it to my album.

I think other data bases need to be connected to MC

Version 11 most definitely checks amazon.com for art.

I believe that amazon changed something in their website.
The latest build of 11 still doesn't select any art.

I believe they're still working on fixing it.

amazon has changed something and i find it a bit annoying.

Last year they did 500x500 for recent albums, the older ones were 300x300.

A month or 2 ago, some bright spark decided they would standardise on 500x500. So now older stuff comes with a nice think white background to make up for the size.

Making heavy use of M$ Office Picture manager to remove them, not impressed  >:(

Still?  I gave up on v10 because of this problem.

I used DVDProfiler to pull info on ~350 DVDs and EVERY one came across with the correct cover art/disk info.

I'm lucky if I get 3 CDs in a row to load the cover art with MC.  Couldn't even find Sgt. Peppers.

What version of MC are you using?  You can copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

I have a friend who I finally convinced to try MC. He got the latest 11 build and ripped a few old CDs. He said it was okay but it got no cover art. I tried to convince him that it's a known problem and being worked on. What an embarassing way to try and get him sold on it.

A previous post regarding YADB, gave a response from the JimH that YADB does not store or deliver ANY cover art because of copyright issues.

I wonder if this is still the case?

For MC11.1 and below this is the case.

In the past as long as the cover art was with a buy button it was ok.

There have been many changes in the past few years and relaxing some of the controls.
