I'm surprised this thread was not already deleted or locked.

JR has no intention of telling us anything & the BETA team is sworn to secrecy, so anyone who asks the question is wasting their time. The first we will hear about MC12 is when they open the BETA and post it.

As long as they are not saying anything anyway, I suggest they put a sticky thread up, that is locked, that says; don’t ask – we’ll post it when it’s ready.

Looking forward to the "real later", especially since I have changed over to MC12 a while ago and did huge changes to my library which I understand I can not easily take over into MC11 again.

I thought I was in the same boat as you, having added about 2000 ratings and 1000 genre tags in MC12, but if you store the info in tags and then reimport in MC11, it should work.

I respect JRs right to not disclose the BETA details, including sharing of information and the timing details. However, they started the problem when they opened the BETA up and shortly thereafter pulled it. The un-do button, when dealing with a group like us, does not work so well.

So all I’m saying is there should be an official statement, at the top where everyone can see it - that summarizes the current status.

That current status may be simple – the BETA is still closed and we have not yet set a date for opening it up.

At least that way we will not have random requests from us continually posed, which are mostly ignored (at least from an official response point of view).

BTW – the BETA team is doing a great job of maintaining confidentiality (this is a compliment, not a SA remark)

We'll open the beta soon ... when it's completely stable.

Here's the current feature list:

* New default skin, "Noire"
* EXIF image tag information is imported into the library for use in view schemes, searches, etc.
* New "Display View" that replaces Full Screen View and Windowed View with a more streamlined look
* On-the-fly bad pixel filtering in images to mask CCD or other defects with images
* New default Mini View called "Slim" that's based off the standard skin
* Media modes replaced by new left navigation system in player
* Major speedups to searching (over 11x faster), sorting (over 3x faster), view switching, and program startup
* Burning multiple CD sets at once as well as splitting large audiofiles (books, podcasts, etc.) across discs
* Improved support for Audible files
* Improved handheld device support
* DVD filter selection
* Filter selection, color controls, and many other video playback enhancements
* Otto -- Background (auto) import with optional folder watching
* New tag system
* QT video thumbnails
* Transparency in menus
* Animated buttons on mouse-over
* Cover Art display in Action Window
* Mouse-wheel zooming and panning for video, DVD, and TV
* IPTC tag support for images
