Auto import not working?
« on: October 14, 2006, 09:30:28 am »

Either I am doing something wrong or Otto isn't working. I have "Run auto-import in background" checked and have tried this with local and network files. MC 12 is closed. I add a file to a folder that is being watched. I open MC 12. I wait 30 minutes and that file is never imported. I even moved the file out of the foler and moved it back hoping Otto would pick it up when MC was running. Nothing. It used to work great.

Am I doing something wrong since the auto-import rename came into being?

Is the file type one you've selected for import?

In one of the directories you're importing?

Is it possible the file was previously deleted?  MC won't import it unless you change the options for import.

Yes, MP3.

Yes.

The first time I tried it a couple builds ago and mentioned there was a problem they were brand new files. I tested again with 93 and deleted a file first, moved it externally out of the folder, and made sure the Import option for "Ignore files previously removed from library" was unchecked. Moved the file back and hoped Otto would find it but never did.

Auto-import manually does work. It sounds like something is stopping auto-import from actually running in the background?

Sounds like it's broken.  We'll take a look.
