Flickering in fullscreen mode
« on: September 01, 2002, 05:39:34 am »

Whatever fullscreen mode i choose for TrackInfo pages MJ uses some mode with just 50 Hertz which is very annoying because it flickers so much.
Even when it's a mode which is correctly set up in windows' controls. And even if it's the same mode as I use for windows (MJ normal, windowed) which is 1152x864@32bit MJ uses not the 85Hz as windows does but something as low as 50Hz or so.
I can't find a way to tell MJ to use a higher frequency. Why doesn't MJ just use the modes already set up for windows?

It should.

Try the option called "desktop resolution".

In internal, windowed or full screen (desktop res) mode, MJ won't touch the display mode. If you set your refresh to 85Hz, run MJ, play a track and go to the track info page, at what point does your monitor start flickering? Does the monitor make a clicking sound as most do when they change modes?

What graphics card are you using? If it's NVidia based, there's a utility called NVRefreshTool that allows you to override the default frequency for each mode.
