Media center freezes
« on: February 07, 2007, 04:53:29 pm »

Hi,
I am running the latest version of twelve. Whenever I double click on a file (that is associated with MC)outside of Media centre for example in Windows explorer. Media center freezes and shuts down. Media center is already open when this occurs. How do I stop it?

Download, reboot, then install this build:

Let us know if it continues.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

Also, perhaps you could send a log after the crash to matt at jriver dot com. (Help > Logging, enable file logging, restart, make crash, restart, send log)

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I just tested it.

CASE 1: MC running, double clicked a MP3 file I navigated to using explorer, MC started playing the track I double clicked on - no problems

CASE 2: MC running, double clicked a MP3 file I navigated through going to folders, MC started playing the track I double clicked on - no problems

CASE 3: MC running, already playing a MP3 track, double clicked a JPG file I navigated to using explorer, MC kept playing the MP3 and showed the picture - no problem

CASE 4: MC running, already playing a MP3 track, double clicked a mp4 file I navigated to using explorer, MC switched to the movie - no problem

0239666 - what type of files were you double clicking that caused MC to freeze & shut down?

Make sure that the file type you're trying to play isn't checked in the win player's option/file associations.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the are movie files. I'll try and do that log thing now.

Ok since I started running the log file it doesn't happen anymore. Typical. Everything seems to be running smoothly. Thanks.
