Coverart and IPOD Coverart
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:33:33 pm »

I have MC 12.0.154

Coverart:
It took a long time to get everything working in MC11. Now when I imported the library the coverart is erratic. The other issue is that I want to move my library to my NAS and am afraid that if I do that I would have to do the coveart again. I cannot save the coverart in the tag as my home automation app requires that I do not do that. Please help on the best route to get coverart going once and for all.

Coverart and IPOD:

My coverart is NOT being transferred over when I send files. I have the option checked and the coverart is correct in MC. I have toggled all the settings to no avail. So I deleted the album from the ipod and the library, ripped it again, added the coverart and tried it to no avail. I then opened up MC11. Imported the album and sent it to the ipod and everything worked like a charm. I compared the settings and both are the same. Please advise on a solution. MC11 is working fine. In the ipod details window (in the MC transfer list) I can see the coveart as part of the file.

Alex B posted some info on cover art in MC11.1, links in the FAQ here:

Most of it still applies.

You may find info for the iPod on the iPod board here.

You could also update your version of MC.

I will update and advise. Hoever, the weird thing is that it works perfectly in MC11 and does not in MC12.

Maybe MC12 doesn't know where your cover art is.  Check Options/File Locations.  Once you have the location set correctly, select a few tracks, right click and do Cover Art/Quick Find.

The folder is setup. MC12 shows the coverart and works fine. Only IPOD sync is dropping it.

Try the following:

1) Connect your iPod
2) Go to Options (Three buttons are at the top; Sync Now, Recheck Sync, Options)
3) In the Options List, Check "Enable album artwork if possible"

With that set, your cover art should go to the iPod.

That is checked. I mimic the settings that are in MC11 and am lost because it does not make any sense.

I also see the coverart during the syncing where it shows the files that are in the ipod.

regards,

I never have any problems with cover art syncing to the iPod.  That being said, I may be set up differently than you. For music, all of my files are mp3.  Also, I have my stored inside the files (Store Images In Tags Also).  With this setup, I have no problems with MC12.

If you can provide some additional information, maybe I or others on this forum may have more ideas.
