media jukebox on 2 computers
« on: May 23, 2003, 05:01:50 am »

hi,

i have 2 computers, one that is my internet/email/main desk top (which my media jukebox is on) and another one in my basement.  i ride my bike trainer in front of this one, and would like to transfer my .mp3 files and media jukebox to this; it came with musicmatch pre-installed.  how do i do this?  or at least, how do i get my .mp3 files onto this other computer?  attached is my system info.

tia,

jasonod

Do you have a network connecting the two? Just install MJ on the second one and use Media Server

Do you have a CD burner? I don't remember, but MJ is probably over 5MB. MP3s cannot be compressed. Wireless networking is pretty cheap.

okay, i will think about wireless networking.  question: how close do the computers have to be to be wirelessly connected?  what if i had one in my house, the other in my garage, let's say?

did you not save the mjb 8 set up?
8)
you have a file transfering program?  just use it to get all the needed files in a nice zipped exe to be burned on a cdrw then take it to the other computer and unzip it and it should be set up?  you still might need to do something with the lic?? though.

wireless can be good at 150 feet away but going through floors it is needing to be closer. 8)
