This is what I do:
1. I go to my pictures, select 2 of them and click Play.
2. The 2 pictures are shown in Playing Now. So far so good.
3. I go to my music and select 2 songs and click Play.
4. Songs start to play as expected.
5. Playing now is showing the songs, but not the pictures!!!?
6. The pictures are still show in the Display Window > they are dominant over the album art (ok?)
7. But were can I check what pictures are in the slideshow
8. Were should I change the listing of the pictures: let's say remove one
9. How can i clear the slideshow without clearing the music that is playing

I am curious to know how this is done......

In the FAQ (see my signature below) there is a link to a thread on Image Playback.

Also, try using the BigScreen display (hit F11).  Options for playback allow you to go there automatically if you choose to do so.
