Before Podcasts could be added to the sync list for an iPod, I created a playlist for each of my podcasts and anytime I was ready to sync, I would make sure I downloaded the latest, copied them to the playlist, and then deleted the ones I had already listened to from the playlist and iPod. When I saw podcasts could be synced, I thought these extra steps would not be needed anymore, so I tried it today. I unchecked my iPod playlists, selected one of the podcasts to sync, and suddenly all my music on the iPod was listed with different statuses such as "Duplicate", "Delete On Sync", and the rest of my audio library "In Queue". Unchecking the podcast put all my iPod audio back to "On Device".
I must be missing something here. I was hoping that checking a podcast would sync only the downloaded episodes to the iPod, if not already there, and make sure they were in increasing track order.
Can someone please explain how this is supposed to work?
