Support Everio .mod extension?
« on: August 28, 2007, 10:46:42 pm »

Will there be support  for the JVC Everio .mod video format in the future? My camcorder records in this format, but I cannot playback within Media Center.

According to filext.com "JVC stores the video in files with a .MOD extension which are standard MPEG-2 VOB files with Dolby Digital sound".  Try renaming the files as *.mpg and see how you go!
Thanks

Try google to see if you can find a DirectShow filter for it.

Try renaming to .mpg.

Renaming to *.mpg does work. However, some players handle them fine with the .mod extension.
