Did you add this info to the "Help us Identify iPods" thread (at the top of the forum)?

The "Classic" is not yet supported by MC, but JR posted that they are working on it.  So far there are no estimates as to when it might be supported.

:-[  OH MY GOD! I HATE ITUNES.... I will wait patiently for the MC12 update to recognize the new Ipod Classic but man, having to use Itunes makes me realize just how clumsy, slow and stupid it is.

I've spent the last hour trying to figure out how to do compilations.

Even setting the files correctly and the compilations showing up in the compilations menu in the ipod, the freaking artists still show up under that menu. Go figure.

Everybody, please post your last 3 digits, of the S/N and model to help out the MC folks with adding the much needed support.

In the meantime I plan to only sync like  2 or 3gb I can use MC fully.

jusst venting :'(

I am amazed that Apple has even come up with something as idiotic and non-user friendly as iTunes. The 80 gb iPod classic rules, but I may have to go back to my 5g 30gb until MC comes up with an update.

I've spent the last hour trying to figure out how to do compilations.

My 80g Classic is due to arrive tomorrow. I've been eagerly waiting it's arrival so I could dump half of my MC library on it, and then I read this post... and tonight I grudgingly installed iTunes in preparation for it's arrival.

olarte, do me a favour and save me an hour, I have a lot of compilation CD's - what did you do to make them work?

MC people, please forgive me for I know not what I do and hope I don't have to do it again, but until MC works, I need my music.  I'll upload my serial number when it arrives.

I'll upload my serial number when it arrives.

Thanks again to everybody for helping out by posting the information in the "Please help" thread.

Don't forget to specify if your unit is gray or black.

Thanks,

Larry

iPod 160GB is expected to arrive soon. I am also looking for its support with MC12. The *only* reason I got iPod is because I know my nano worked well with MC12. I got 160GB so that I can take all my audio files with me.

thanks,

Unfortunatley the compilations are 1/2 broken in the new Ipod Classics (see my other post "serious Bugs in IPod classic coverflow\Compilations).

Compilations show up if you tag them in Itunes as such, BUT the artists still show, and cover flow shows individual covers for each freaking track!

Bravo!  If it works, I'm off to the Apple store to pick up my new classic black 160.  Thank you.

The nation's economic success depends on J River adding iPod Classic support.

Matt and other, please sign me up for the beta testing. As you know I've been experimenting a lot with the Ipod Classic and how to fix compilation\coverflow issues etc.

I'll be glad to test the MC support for the new Ipod Classic as needed.

Thanks in advance
