MJ8.0.347 - Ripping and converting
« on: August 15, 2002, 12:23:12 pm »

I recently clean installed MJ8 on a clean copy of XP.  I have tried everything I can think of and searched thru all of help, but have come up clueless.  What is happening is that when I rip a CD, or convert WMA files, to MP3, the following summary fields (right click on file - select properties - click on Summary tab - if needed, click Advanced button) are not present:

Artist
Album Title
Year
Genre
Lyrics
Protected
Duration
Bit Rate
Audio sample size

I have checked to make sure that the ID3 tags are being saved and according the MJ8, they are.  However, when I try to update the track number in the Advanced Summary of the file, I get this pop-up:

"A disk error occurred during a write operation."

When I try to update the track number in MJ8, I get a pop-up which reads:

"Media Jukebox failed to update the rag information for the following files:

D:\Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III - Immigrant Song.mp3

(this happens when files are in use, read-only, or when tagging has been disabled in MJ's options)"

However, the track number is still retained by MJ8, but it is not echoed to the ID3 tag.  I have tried this both with and without MJ8 running.

Finally, when I imported the music into MJ8, it did not save the track number from any of the files that are not MP3.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Timothy

8.0.347 had both ripping and burning problems.  Sorry.

8.0.348 on our downloads page should fix this.

Does anyone know why this is happening?  I would really appreciate someone providing a solution to this problem.

Thanks,
Timothy
