Streaming Skips
« on: October 23, 2007, 11:06:15 pm »

I recently moved MC12 to a new computer, and I noticed that one of the streaming radio stations we regularly listen to now skips a lot - gaps, pops, crackles, etc...  I tried playing with the output device and buffering, but it does not help.  It is an abacast stream, and the computer is XP with lots of memory.  The CPU is around 98% free.  If I play the very same stream through WinAmp, it is crystal clear, so it is not a problem with the stream (but I would rather use Media Center).  Any other options I should try tweaking?  Thanks!

It'd also be helpful to know the URL of the streaming station.

I am using version 12.0.329 (system info detail below - taken with stream running)

The URL is http://sc1.abacast.com:8086/
It is a 48k MP3 Abacast stream for KMHD.FM

Any ideas for tweaking my settings would be greatly appreciated.  The buffering in the output options did not seem to help.

Thanks!

Jeff
