Cover Art not displaying on clients
« on: November 12, 2007, 08:02:03 pm »

Just installed .370 and cover art will not display in "Playing Now" on my clients with the exception of any CDs that are in the "Multiple Artists" category, cover art displays correctly for these. The cover art does display for all CDs as microThumbs, pop-ups and tiles.
All my files are .ape and cover art is stored as [Artist] - [Album].jpg in the same folder as the tracks.

Looking at the tags (on client):

For "Multiple Artists" CDs where the cover art displays as expected:

"Image File" = http://192.168.1.133:8123/GetArt?Key=214

(The value for "Key" changes for each CD)

For all other CDs where cover art does not display in "Playing Now":

"Image File" = http://192.168.1.133:8123/Q:^5cApe^5cBela Fleck^26 The Flecktones^5cUFO Tofu^5cBela Fleck^26 The Flecktones - UFO Tofu.jpg

Obviously the exact text will change depending on the track but it appears that spaces and hyphens are not being parsed correctly and are replaced with "^" and "5c" etc.

Plus there is the basic difference in how the image file location is interpreted between "Multiple Artists" files and the rest of the library.

Any ideas  ?

Yes

Plus there is the basic difference in how the image file location is interpreted between "Multiple Artists" files and the rest of the library.

I looked at the "Image File" tags on the server and for the "Multiple Artists" tracks they report "Inside File"

For all other tracks the actual [Artist] - [Album].jpg file is listed, e.g. "Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - UFO Tofu.jpg"

I'm reasonably certain that I did not intentionally "tell" MC to store the cover art in the file when I tagged the "Multiple Artists" Cds.

Build .338 worked as expected wrt cover art.

I'm seeing this too. It has been like this since "internal changes" were made to the program a couple of weeks back.

As an experiment to see if the spaces and hyphens in the cover art filename were causing a problem with the clients I changed one file from "Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - UFO Tofu.jpg" to "BelaFleck.jpg". I tagged the files for this CD with the new file with the following tag results:

Server: Image File = BelaFleck.jpg

Client:  Image File =  http://192.168.1.133:8123/Q:^5cApe^5cBela Fleck^26 The Flecktones^5cUFO Tofu^5cBelaFleck.jpg

Next, I ripped a new CD and stored the cover art without spaces from the start and tagged with "Add From File"

Server: Image File = DFK.jpg

Client:  Image File =  http://192.168.1.133:8123/Q:^5cApe^5cThe Dudek, Finnigan, Krueger Band^5cDFK^5cDFK.jpg
