Library Server over WAN (SOLVED)
« on: November 14, 2007, 08:06:30 am »

I'm using a Linksys WRT54GS with SPI firewall disabled (filter anonymous requests disabled). Same version of MC on both .70, and I can only use Library Server over the LAN (Media Server works fine too). Is this feature disabled by design.

Host = XP x64
Client = Vista x86

Library Server will work over any network connection.  If it doesn't, either there is a firewall issue or a routing problem or similar.

Try a different port.  80 is usually open but may also be subject to bad guy exploits.

I was testing at home, within my LAN, which works to test other software I use. I'm at the in-laws now and seems to working fine. I purchased the max upload bandwith from my ISP a few months ago...images loaded really quick. Thanks for your reply, and sorry if I wasted your time.
