Filetype automatically changed to '.river'?
« on: December 17, 2007, 10:39:07 am »

Last night I was playing several episodes of the show, 'Extras'. At one point a few episodes in, the sound began to stutter every few seconds. Since these were SD XviD files, I knew it couldn't be from overloading my CPU. While I was trying to figure out what was up, the PC crashed. When I restarted, I noticed that the file in question was now xxx.river, instead of xxx.avi. The sound conitnued to stutter, but when I renamed the extension back to .avi, all was well. I know for a fact that I never gave the file the '.river' extension. Any idea what happened?

No.  I don't think MC renamed it.

Thanks for the response. Perhaps I'm just going nuts, but I didn't copy-paste anything yesterday, certainly didn't type 'river', and never eve knew it could be a file type extension. I'll let it drop, unless it happens again. :)
