I just bought a SAMSUNG writemaster CD/DVD player/burner. When I try to play a DVD movie using Media Center 12, Windows XP crashes. When I do the same using Real Player, everything works fine.

Did you try?  You may have a bad DirectShow filter.

XP crashing is not a JRiver Media Center problem.  It is probably a hardware or driver problem.

Did I try what? I don't know what CCCP is. I don't know what Direct Show is. I don't know what Wiki is. I am not a computer nerd that is looking for information on the internet. I am someone who BOUGHT your product and is now looking for technical SUPPORT.

Besides, I am not asking for technical support for XP. Your product causes XP to crash .However RealPlayer doesn't. Instead of asking me to research the problem, why don't you do it and give me the answer. SUPPORT YOUR PRODUCT.

You are mistaken. I don't need to do some reading for technical support to work. I am your CUSTOMER. The problem is that you don't want to be bothered. You just want to sell, collect the money, and expect your customers to give themselves technical support.

I recently bought a NETGEAR router that costs a little bit more than your program. When you call technical support (because they do give phone support ) they don't expect you to be or become an expert in the subject. They research it and solve it for you.

I bought a program to play music and videos. I don't know anything about these technicalities, I don't need to know and I don't want to spend the time learning. I just bought a program to play music and videos. Technical support is YOUR job. Not mine.

You can use google to find out more about the kind of problem you have.  It is at the hardware level.
