Auto-Rip and Secure mode ripping
« on: January 05, 2008, 08:19:19 am »

Hi,
Just a quick qu.
I'm trying to rip a ton of albums and I have it in secure mode for the ripping as they're quite scratched.
Auto rip doesn't seem to work though and it did before I set it to secure mode.

Wondering if this is a bug, or a feature, or if I'm just missing something I'm meant to do to get auto rip mode working?

What are the symptoms?

Just nothing 'auto' happens.

I put the CD into the drive. I then set it to rip, once the CD has finished, if I insert another CD nothing happens.
I have to click 'close' I think it is in the AW for the CD that just ripped, it then opens up a report showing the rip for the last CD which I then have to close at which point the AW goes back to its original state.
I then have to click 'Rip' again and start the whole process again.

It works for me. I just tried it with two CDs.

Normally I have everything that says "auto" disabled, but for this test I enabled the following three CD & DVD options:

CD ripping
- Eject CD after ripping
- Enable auto-rip mode

AutoPlay
- Audio CD: Rip

I already had the secure mode and rip logging options enabled.

This is how it went:

- I had MC playing a music playlist and the view was in the Audio category (i.e. the AW > Rip Disc window was not opened).

- I inserted the first disc. MC was already ripping it when I got back to MC. After the ripping was finished MC ejected the disc automatically.

- I inserted the second disc and MC ripped it automatically. (I didn't press the close button in the AW > Rip Disc window. )

- After the second disc was finished I pressed the close button and MC displayed the rip log which contained info about both discs. The log files were correctly saved separately on the disk.
