Cover Art Not Picked up...
« on: February 21, 2008, 04:05:56 am »

When playing APE Files directly off of the D2,
it should be there in two forms, cover.jpg and
tagged in the APE Files, but not showing up in MC.

Also when you right click on tracks on the device, you don't
get a pop up menu to send them to Playing now etc.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the D2 device?

[off-topic]

I googled for D2 and one of the first search results was R2-D2. I was about to post a joke reply and advice you to enable the device's internal display -- you know, its projector:

However, after clicking a couple of the R2-D2 links I realized that it would not have been a joke. An R2-D2 device actually exists.

It's an amazing gadget. Especially the big model. I want one of those!

http://www.cowonglobal.com/product/product_D2_feature.php

It's a portable media player made by the Korean manufacturer Cowon/IAudio

It's very small, has a 2.5inch hi res video screen, plays among loads of other stuff APE files,
and uses SDHC cards to extend storage.

It's a bit of a geeky toy really, but it sounds good  :)

There's loads of reviews of it
here's one from the reg

Due to performance considerations and some tricky logistics involved in implementing this, MC doesn't consider cover art when listing (or playing) files on a portable device.
