Have "Play/Album" in Thumbnail View to show up quicker?

is it possible to have the "play/album" popup on the thumbnails to show quicker?  i find that im so used to using the icons, i usually wait a second for them to show up so i can keep going.     

maybe a reg hack if not a built in option?
