Problems with INSTALL KEY
« on: March 20, 2008, 07:28:45 pm »

I am a new user to your software, converting to MC12 from years of experience with Music Match and iTunes.

I am not inexperienced with software installation, but I have run into multiple deadends in trying to activate MC12.

I downloaded the trial version a few weeks ago.  Now that the 30-day period has expired, I have decided to pay for the license.  Apparently I successfully paid the fee because I received the REG CODE email, and then the INSTALL KEY email.  I elected to SAVE the INSTALL KEY attachment and apply via MC12.

Here's where things seem to be in a loop….

I started MC12 (which is past the 30 day trial), selected "RESTORE from FILE" from the start screen, pointed to the KEY file that I saved, and it gives me "License is expired. Restore?"  I have been through this multiple times - resulting in four INSTALL KEY emails in my system.

Either there is a technical issue that is putting me into a loop, or I am missing a prompt that would bring this all to a happy conclusion.

I really enjoyed the trial period with the software.  I'm eager to get back to using it.  Please help.

As another bit of feedback, here are a couple of points related to your Purchase screen.

(1) the purchase screen does not indicate all Required Fields and my first attempt to avoid the phone number caused a recycle, and
(2) when the purchase screen recycled, the Payment Method radio button resets to MASTERCARD, undoing my choice of VISA.

Welcome.  Sorry you're having trouble.

Please check your system date.

The Install Key is good for 14 days from the time you do a Restore.  The Registration Code is permanent.
