Windows Media licensing
« on: April 12, 2008, 11:52:19 am »

When I download DRM'ed files with a limited life-time--from the public library's download service--MC will not play them back. MC is not able to acquire the correct license. If I want to play back the files in MC, I have to strip the DRM. I have posted about this previously.

Likewise, when I try to stream a film from cdon.com MC will only play the ad before the featured film, and not the film. In playing now two entries are shown, one "intro" file which play back and the film. Again, MC fails at acquiring the license. The only difference is that this time, MC does not even show a error log.

Both types of windows media play nicely in WMP.

Am I doing anything wrong, or is there some kind of limit in MC's support.

Thanks in advance,
Rasmus

Bump. If somebody knows any "tricks" to make MC understand WM-DRM better, please let me know.

There aren't any tricks.  It should be automatic.

If you play them in WMP once, do they then play in MC?

What OS?  What version of MC?

Yes. Everything works in WMP.
