Did you mean to lock the 482 thread?

Times up, thread's still locked and not stickied.  Is it safe to install?

482 is OK.  We're still chasing a problem with crashes and failures to run.  It could be related to the option under General to "Submit ratings..." but only for people outside the U.S.  Maybe.

Problems with crashes and failures to run?  Check.

I was just working on my library (added a user-defined field) and when I pressed OK, MC froze up.  I forced it closed and re-started; my field wasn't saved so I tried to add it again and it froze again; again I killed the program and tried to run again (thinking that there are other things I could do besides adding that field) but at that point MC wouldn't run.  The moment the "incomplete shutdown" window popped up a Windows (Vista) promt told me that "Media Center has stopped Working".  Rebooting twice didn't fix it; I still can't load MC.  I'm going to uninstall & re-install; maybe downgrade.

BTW - I'm outside the US (Canada) and not sure about my "submit ratings" option - whatever the default is, I guess.

Please check it.

Well, like I said I uninstalled, re-booted, and re-installed a previous version (rolled back to 481).  But the submit ratings option is not checked (and I'm sure I hadn't changed that option before).

OK - just happened on 481... same thing - I had added a fuser ield to my library, click OK... then a crash, now MC won't load.  Great!

Must be something else?  (Other than a 482/ratings issue)  Want some info or a crash report or anything?

I'm running Vista, no A/V, nothing else at all, I think.  Let me know what info you need to diagnose the problem.

Thanks!

You're right - that gets me in.  Funny that NOT disableing 3rd party plugs etc allows MC to boot up?

It's our bug and it's fixed in a build that should be posted in a few minutes here.
