Multi-zone sync
« on: June 21, 2008, 09:17:07 am »

I've been using MC 12 for the past few months and getting on realy well with it. The only problem that keeps coming up is the delay between zones when they are 'supposedly' synchronized. Is there any way of removing this delay which is definitely coming from within MC not any additional harware or software that I'm using?

Welcome to Interact.

Synchronization between zones isn't perfect.  Making it perfect might happen some day, but it's complicated because there is latency in several places (disk, network, sound card, etc.).

This is a question that pops up every so often, and the problem is, as Jim says, to many variables. What I do is to have one more sound card than I have zones and use that as a master zone. Output from that is then connected to the other zones' sound cards, in Line in or similar. I mute and unmute the zones' input with NetRemote and Girder.
