it is driving me nuts but for some reason j river does not import all my music files in a folder. this is a new issue and did not occur before.

Are the files of a certain file type?

Also is it possible they are DRM licensed files, if so do you have the license installed?

all the files are mp3s and non are licensed. it is so crazy b/c i have used j river for 3 years and know the software really well but for some reason it just doesn't import my whole library. when i reinstalled j river it again did not recognize all files but different ones

... and you have double checked the option "do not import files previously removed"?

that option is unchecked b/c i want everything imported

Try searching in MC for one of the filenames. It may be in the library but not be in the place you expect.
