Activation still does not work
« on: June 25, 2008, 12:43:36 am »

Recently i reformattted my hard drive and when using the registration code i got this messsege:

Your Activation file has expired. Do you Want to restore license by using you registration code?

I have used several restores trying to get this to work and the frustration is getting to me as i have never had this problem before when reformatting and then restoring license for media center.

Thank You

Did you check the computer date and time after reformatting?

The registration key file is valid for 14 days. You don't need to use a new restore when you are trying to solve a problem. You can use the same .mjr file again if you are inside the 14 days time frame.

The license must also match the version of MC.

What version are you using?

Don't post your license.

Once you have done a restore, the mjr file is good for 14 days, as Alex says.  If you have the right version of MC installed, you can just click on the mjr Install Key from Explorer.  MC will do the rest.

I am such an idiot, it never accured to me that the date was the problem. The restore worked perfectly. Thanks to all those who took the time to help, especially Alex B who figured it out.

Thank You
