My media center 12 is telling me to purchase or restore
« on: September 04, 2008, 03:04:43 pm »

Hi,

I have no idea why but when starting up it asks me to purchase (which I did on May 30th) or to restore. I used the link delivered with my install key and I did the installation once directly and once with a download. none of both attemps solved my problem.
what should I do to get a working MP?
Perhaps this was caused because I got a message for an update a few days ago and I executed the installation.

thanks,

Please try the build from the top of this board.

More on licenses here:

I just cleaned my computer, installed build 533, and installed your license.  It went smoothly.

So let us know if using build 533 does the trick for you.

(p.s. I cleared your restores so the one I used won't count against you)

Sorry JimH
I don't understand what you mean with "try the build from the top of this board"
I will see your reply tomorrow, it is now 11 PM in Belgium

We announce new builds at the top of the "Media Center 12" board, one level up from this thread.

Here's a link to the latest, but it changes every so often:

It's the first topic on this board.  It says "Media Center 12.0.533 is available here"

It's also on the download page now.  I've just moved it there.

Good night.

Sorry but it is not working.
After I restored MC12 my windows explorer is not working properly anymore. every action, such as a richt mouse click, or Ctrl C etc makes closes the explorer. I did a repair of the OS (Vista) from a repair point of 6 days ago. This resolved my explorer problem. But then I got an error in starting up MC "MC failed to load the library default"
A restore from your latest link resolves the MC problem but returns my windows explorer problem. I did this exercise already twice with the same result. one of both does not work.

can you help? I can't use MC12 anymore.

regards,
