Failed to set screen resolution? [solved]
« on: September 07, 2008, 02:21:13 pm »

Why do I get "Failed to set screen resolution (unknown error)" when I play videos?

This is something that started after installing 533.

I am also getting this message when I try to go to Theater View on my 1080p monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried a lower resolution?  Does anything work?

What is Tool --> Options --> Playback --> Display Settings --> Full Screen Monitor and Resolution set to?  If you set it to Desktop Resolution, does it work then?

Yes it does, thanks!

(I do, however, have no memory of changing the resolution  *from* "desktop resolution..)

Setting the Display setting to "nearest monitor" (not monitor 2) under options fixed the issue for me.  I have to make my big screen TV the primary monitor for this to work.
