We're not working on the new iPods. We may again if Apple decides to be nice. Don't hold your breath.
Cutting off your nose to spite your face?
Better come up with some kind of solution. In MC's market segment, you can't exactly expect to shun and ignore the by-far #1 handheld player just because it is hard and annoying and expect it not to have a sales impact. You can certainly
hope that Apple screws up and they fall from their dominant position, but I certainly wouldn't
count on it.
For example, I don't know of many other customers that you have that are more loyal than me. I recommend JRiver MC nearly constantly to clients, friends, and co-workers (probably got at least 10 people to try out MJ over the past 2 months alone). The number one thing I get asked is "does it work with my iPod?" Without some sort of solution, I'm going to have to stop recommending MC/MJ altogether.
I'll again pimp my "
use iTunes as a handheld" idea as a simple, effective solution that could work and won't get broken every time they rev the iPod/Phone line.
