MJ Cookie?
« on: October 07, 2008, 12:07:40 am »

Every time I do a system scan with SUPERAntiSpyware, I always get this. It's file path is C:\Documents and Settings\xyz\Cookies\xyz@mediajukebox.txt

This comes under the heading Adware.Tracing  Cookie.

Can someone explain why is MJ is putting adware in my PC? Although I know this might not be dangerious, but still, I wouldn't any information out of my computer, anonymous or not, without my permission.

Thanks.

Our software doesn't create or use any cookies. Maybe you can investigate when this file is getting created, and what it contains?

Where did you get the install file?

Please copy your system info from MJ Help and paste it here.

It appears from your old posts that you're using some third party plug-ins.  Please list them.  Try disabling them.

Looks like it's created by our web page, which runs the Google Analytics script:

<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">

It's a free Google tool that many websites run to track visitors to their site. You can read about it here:

I didn't realize our website used cookies, but as I said before, our application software doesn't create or use any cookies.
