I Got Up At 5am And Our Local News Said It Was To Close To Call 50% To 50%, And That's About It.
Maybe in your state. Nationally it is 52.4 to 46.4.
Scott Rassmussen got it.
NC hasn't been called by the networks yet because there are still some outstanding provisional ballots (those are ballots that may or may not be valid). Currently the AP has the totals at 2,101,986 Obama vs. 2,089,826 McCain (a margin of 12,160 votes). The AP also hasn't awarded Missouri or Georgia.
The situation in Georgia is interesting. A bunch of the other networks (CNN, NBC, etc) called Georgia for McCain fairly early on. I was surprised as I thought it'd be closer. The AP hasn't called it because, even though there are 99% reporting, the remainder is approximately 600,000 early votes that have to be counted by hand. The early vote totals were going heavily for Obama, and the current margin in GA is just over 200,000 votes. Probably won't pull it off, but it should be close. Missouri is just amazing. The margin right now is 5,853 votes. Now
that's a tie!
Assuming that Obama ends up with NC that brings it to 364 Electoral Votes for Obama. I'm hoping he squeaks out a win in MO too, because that would bring him to 375, which is exactly what I guessed beforehand (which will make me happy but do nothing else for me).
