Transparent Video Surround?
« on: December 09, 2008, 04:52:27 pm »

When viewing video on Theater View, is there any chance that the surround could be transparent, and possibly the video even semi transparent?  It's blocking my rotating play button.

I'd think there should be a choice between having the video in the background with the foreground transparent or having it the way it is...  so that you can continue to see the video unadultered (there must be a better word than that!) while you're messing around.

I have to admit I'm not sure why you'd want this. I think it would be way to distracting trying to watch a video and having an animated object showing through it as well.

We had an experimental option for mixing the playing video into the background of Theater View a while ago. (it was too slow for high-definition playback, at least back then)

And do you know you can mix videos of your choosing into the background of Theater View?  We released a skin with Napolean Dynamite dancing some time ago.  We're considering making this easier to choose videos from your library to use.

That would be great. Could finally replace the rather dull and ugly backgound, in a easy way hopefully.

I think this would be great for "Playing Now" and would avoid the need to have the 50% PIP window showing all the time (as long as it's not too slow though, as you've stated).

 :o

How do I do this? And is it compatible with Flash vids - Movie previews, redtube clips ;D, music clips from youtube and the like and / or video playlists?

Here is a snap of one of my vids running in the background:

Ive been using this feature ever since Matt came up with it, a long time ago.

So cool on the big screen.

The org. skin was called "Obsidian Dynamite".

Hi Ralf,

Sorry, I disagree.

Playing Now, with a video running at the top and a 3D cube/slideshow running at the bottom is pretty damm cool on the big screen.

Also no drag on the mach.

Here is a snap:

Have a wonderfull Xmas, Ralf.

That would be neat.

 :D

So how about my comment every couple months or so, about:

Theater View/Images/Select/Send to 3D ?

I didnt think so, but I can still hope.

Pic this:

You have guest coming for the evening, now you would like to drum up some Images from your Libary of your guest for 3D presentation on the big screen

but darn, now you got to get the old keyboard/ect. for the HTPC, what a bummer.

 :(

Merry Xmas everyone.
