HI,

just updated to build 161 and the mp3 encoder in format conversion is broken.
It converts just a few seconds of the file and deletes the rest.
I can reproduce this on a clean windows installation (VMware).
I also tried some other encoders:
-mpc and vorbis and working.
-flac and APE fail (no file at all).

Anyone has the same issues?

Kind regards,
RAist

UPDATE: With New main encoder (b161) , some encoders are broken

Ok, I look a little deeper into this and found the solution.

It is NOT a problem of the encoder itself, but of the file handling at file conversion.
When you convert an MP3 to MP3 again (using e.g. different bitrate), it works only when "move file" is enabled.
Otherwise the encode fails or it creates a temp file in the temp folder of mc13 and doesn'T move it to the source folder.

Build 152 worked correctly here, creating a file with a "(1)" added to the original file name or replacing the original file (when delete source was enabled).

I guess the new encoder plugin has a bug in conjunction with file conversion.
For normal CD Ripping everything OK so far.

Hope you can reproduce the bug and fix it now.

Kind regards,
Raist

Please give build 166 a shot and let us know if any problems remain.

Thanks.

Hi Matt,

you fixed it!
Even better, this new converter interface for converting more than one file at once is perfect for my quad-core!!
Thanks for all your efforts!

Kind regards,

I think another problem is there.

Conveting APE -> FLAC or mp3, the files get created, but the extension is in the wrong place.

I am using APE with CUE file, so conversion creates just the files, no import done.  After conversion, the ape files are removed from library, and the flac files are imported.  This way, it worked since the days of MC12.

Now it creates files like {Ape File Name}.flac ({TrackNumber} {TrackName})

The extension is no more a flac, so MC does not recognize it while trying to import.

Workaround is to manually move the misplaced ".flac" to the end of file name in Windows Explorer.  Then import works, and the files are OK.

Converter options are:
Destination  - Same as original
Mode - Leave original, do not add destination
Options - Number of files to convert at the same time: 4 (the computer is a quad one)
No Skip if destination already exist
No Skip if orig and dest are same type

I think, Encoding options are not relevant, because the same problem exist with FLAC and mp3.

The system is Vista x64 Ultimate, no big changes to the system since it last worked.  Build 166, and 167 are the versions that I can confirm to have this problem.

Thanks for the report.  It looks like a CUE only problem.

It'll be fixed in a coming build.

This is fixed in build 169, available at the top of this board.
