Philips RFX2001 -- Infrared to Wireless to Infrared
« on: June 20, 2009, 05:29:48 pm »

I've bought a couple pair of these recently, one for home and one for work.

Philips RFX2001

They are sold as a pair for about $50.  I got them at MicroCenter.

They are meant to make it simple to use a single IR remote to control several devices.  The devices can be up to 30 feet away from the receiver.

One is a battery powered receiver.  It converts IR signals it receives to wireless radio.

The other is an IR transmitter.  It also has a jack on the back to be used with an IR emitter.  In this case, Philips includes one cable with two emitters.  The emitters are stuck to the IR receiver on each device to be controlled.

It works great.

Not for a long time.  It used to be two blocks away.  I'll take a look.  Thanks.

Ask for John there.  John seems to know the most about what's in stock and what's orderable.

There are lots of IR distro systems available, AEI carries a few of them.
