Missing duration of video files
« on: June 27, 2009, 06:42:58 am »

After importing some video files into MC, I noticed that they're all missing the duration information. And if open the tag editor, it won't let me add it manually either. All my audio files show the duration, and one single video file, a wmv file, also shows the duration. It's the only wmv-file I've added, the rest are mkv, ts, mpg etc.

Even after playing through some of the videos it still shows no duration. Once I open the file, it shows the correct duration under the progress bar.

Anyone know what's wrong? Is it a bug?

It may be a file for which MC uses Quicktime as the video engine.  Take a look at our wiki (link above) on DirectShow.  Consider installing CCCP filters, but turn off task bar options for Haali and FFDShow.

ALL video files except WMV has this problem. And I don't use Quicktime for anything, only Haali and FFDShow. Of course I can try turning off the task bar icons for Haali and FFDShow and see what happens.

What video formats?

The task bar option can cause a focus problem, but not this problem.
