Support for Windows Media 9 (.wmv format)
« on: April 25, 2003, 06:30:58 pm »

Hello ...

I have downloaded some video files in "wmv" format, however when I play them in Media Jukbox, I only get audio and no video. After searching on the web, I found out that these files may have been made with Windows Media Player 9 which has introduced changes to the codce for the .wmv/wma formats. Has anybody encountered this problem, and do you know of any solution? I would GREATLY appreciate it !

You must switch to "Playing Now" to see the video.

You can force MC to switch by changing your settings under Tools/Options/General.

I am having this problem while I am in "playing now" mode. I get a message in the window where the video is supoosed to appear, saying that "Media Jukebox is unable to load the vizualtions associated with this file format". Once again, the file I am talking aout is a windows media video file (wmv) and it was made with windows media 9.

You ned to update your direct show filters by the sound of it.  Try and download the NIMO codec pack
