Hulu, Theater View, and movies
« on: August 12, 2009, 09:32:40 am »

I watched a movie from Hulu.com for the first time last night.  I used MC14's Theater View to get there.  You might want to give it a look.  The quality was excellent and the movie was great.

Here's how:

1.  Go to Theater View by pressing F11 twice or choose it from the View menu.

2.  Scroll right to "Connected".

3.  Open Hulu.

4.  On the second roller, scroll right to "Popular Feature Films".

5.  Press enter

You will need to enter your birth date by using the keyboard.

Here's what Hulu looks like inside MC:

This is really awesome.. I watched a movie on Hulu yesterday with MC14 and it did work fine..

A few comments about the interface:

  • After I press play on the Theater view. I get another Play icon from Hulu. I had to press the Enter button on remote again.
  • My basic remote functions (I use USBUIRT plugin for MC14) for Pause, FF, REW did not seem to work with Hulu. I don't know if they can be expected to work or not

Thanks,
Osho

I love this feature in MC14, but ran into one problem.  Once a clip finishes Hulu brings up an option of things to view next.  With my MCE remote I was unable to select one of the options.  I had to go back to the Theater View menu and select a different clip.
