why can't I change or customize settings for links ( google, images, wiki, youtube )??
in the last version, before I upgraded, I could normally change settings and have for example: discogs, google images, wiki...  all of them opening in the external browser, thus not interrupting my audio files browsing within MC. Furthermore I could change whatever I wanted, the way I wanted, but now it seems I'm stuck with the given links and I cannot adjust a single thing there???!      

is this going to remain like this or is it going to be fixed in some time soon?

Customizing links still works for me with the latest build (14.0.61). I haven't had any issues with this in any recent builds either.
You should give a few more details about exactly what you're seeing when trying to customize and hopefully somebody will be able to help you fix the issue.

I too upgraded to the latest version ( 14.0.61 )
the problem occurs when I try to re-order the given links. Namely, I right-click at the links, from the drop-down window I choose "customize links", click and dialogue window opens. Now when I try to remove the existing links ( google, images, youtube, wiki... ), or to add new ones ( for example "discogs" ), it in fact does add or remove links normally within that same dialogue window. I can even change the way clicking at the links should behave ( instead of "open inside program", I try to set "open in external browser" ), furthermore I can edit search ( "media type_is_audio / video or whatever..." ) and then click "apply", than "OK"..

but when try to finish the thing by clicking the final OK, the same old default links remain again, as if I clicked to "Reset All Links To Default"?
Means I cannot change them at all or even edit their "behaviour" by my preference ( opening in external browser.. ), and that was one of my favourite features in MC, I could always check in "discogs" the author's discography and so on...

I don't know if I described it right or not, giving the right or enough details. Tell me what else would You like to know about this problem of mine

I think you've described what you're doing well enough now, unfortunately I'm at a loss as to what's happening. Just to be sure I just went and added a Discogs link using the exact methodology you described and it worked as intended.

Since there are two of you getting the same erroneous results, maybe it's a common setting that's causing the problem for you two, but not for me?  ? That's me guessing blindly though. I think you're going to need the help of somebody more knowledgeable than myself....

no, no remote connection, no library server...

all my music is on an external hard drive, customizing links worked perfectly normal with MC13 ( before upgrading )

Links from Audio are broken. They just pass the base URL. Links from Video (including the same ones that don't work in Audio) work fine.

After making changes, a file 'links.xml' will be saved in your library folder.

It sounds like we're not able to load the file that has been saved.

Perhaps you could send a copy of the links.xml that isn't working to matt at jriver dot com?

Whatever my problem was seems to have gone away. I have no idea why—I didn't change anything.

I tried "Default Resources" folder within "Data" in "Media Center 14", but there is no trace of links.xml there...

Use File > Library > Library Manager to see where your library is located.

By default it's in the 'Application Data\J River\Media Center 14\Library' folder on your machine.  It could be a hidden folder, so make sure you tell Explorer to show you hidden folders.
