Mailing list problem
« on: September 25, 2009, 03:46:06 pm »

Over the past week I have gotten 3 of the same email telling me how MC14 is stable now. All three came to the same email address. I don't want to opt out as I'd like to stay on your list. But, I don't need to get the same email over and over again.

Can you quote the subject or first paragraph?

The MC14 stable mailing was done in mid-August.

I'm sorry for the duplicates, but we have these lists:

1.  Download e-mails
2.  Purchase e-mails
3.  Forum e-mails

I would love to have a way to manage them as a single list, but it's really tough since the software that collects them is three different systems.  We could spend a month on this and probably have something that worked, but there are a lot of odd problems:

1.  AOL and Yahoo slow our e-mails down because they think they are SPAM.
2.  People change their e-mail addresses and don't update their e-mail with us.
3.  People sometimes use a fake address (joesjunk@...)
4.  People use two different addresses.
5.  Sometimes we get hate mail for sending the awful stuff.
6.  Sometimes we get rebuked on the forum for not sending an e-mail about a sale

So I spend my time trying to remain calm and centered.

We'll be better some day, I promise.

Good day,
In early August, we declared JRiver Media Center 14.0 stable.  Since then we've added more features.  If you have an MC14 license,  you can just download and install.  If not, please consider an upgrade.

Not a problem. Just wanted to let you know your list might be running amok.
