Images Fall Under The Magical Date of 7/19/2009
« on: October 24, 2009, 11:20:17 am »

I'm running into a very strange situation that I can't seem to correct.

I'm using MC14 to view my 21,000 images. I do my tagging and editing in Photoshop Elements 7's organizer.

When I import my images into MC14, 4713 of my images fall under the grouped date of 7/19/2009 though many of the photos are decades old and tagged appropriately. I actually do not have ANY photos that are tagged 7/19/2009! But it gets more weird...

- The "grouped date" of 7/19/2009 somehow appears between the grouped dates 9/3/2009 and 9/20/2009 (these are dates I actually shot photos).
- If I select (in "Panes") only the photos belonging to 2009 (with "all months" selected) the 7/19/2009 group of 4713 photos appears at the top of my list (sorted for the most recent first).
- If I select (in "Panes") only the photos belonging to 2009 and the month of July, none of the 7/19/2009 group appear (which is as it SHOULD be)!

I don't have this problem in any other organizer (I.E. Photoshop Elements or Picasa) and I've repeated this "phenomenon" on more than one computer (one being Windows XP 32 Bit and the other being Windows Vista 64 Bit).

Have I stumbled upon a bug?

There are a couple of different dates on every file.  Date Created and Date Modified.  MC can display them.

Take a look at the files in Explorer.  The 7/19 date may be the date they were copied to the drive.

Doubtful that this is a bug.
