  • nothing more to say...

I recently did an in-place upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and have been monitoring Event Viewer for errors.

I played a track for about one minute, hit stop, then closed the program normally.  Nothing looked unusual.

The program itself seems to run fine, however, the message on the subject line is what I see as an Error in Event Viewer.  The Source says Service Control Manager.
At the same time, there is a second error titled Application Error.  Details below:
Log Name:      Application
Source:        Application Error

I didn't have these errors prior to the upgrade.

Looking at my Event Viewer, I see that the same has been the case here...tons of these errors over the past few weeks (one for each use of Media Center) on my system using Win7 Ultimate (this was a clean install of the RTM, not an upgrade).

Not causing any problems, but it has made my system "reliability monitor" score plummet.

I've disabled the Media Center 14 service for now.

Matt, I just installed 14.0.90 and the problem persists.  Same Service Control Manager and Application errors.  Let me know if you need more information.  I rebooted the PC and it didn't help.

Also, something seems out of sequence with the installation.  I noticed this on .88 and .90. The program was installed, automatically launched (Express), and later closed. After the next system Restart, Windows is asking permission to let JRiver change something on the PC.  I said "Yes" and it looked like it was finishing the installation.

That can happen when Shell Extensions change, but it's also Windows' way now to ask about anything we do.

Looks like it is fixed now in .94.

Thanks!
