Feature Request: DLNA Client
« on: November 16, 2009, 11:37:28 pm »

It is good to see the server piece getting some upgrades, especially in the area of DLNA. (I still think it should be split from the player.) My feature request is to add DLNA client abilities to the player. If this is already possible, please enlighten me.

I think DLNA is an excellent road for the player to go down.

Is it possible for MC14's DLNA feature to support Samsung TVs?

On my Samsung, it can connect to MC, but can't play anything (format problem).

If it helps any, I was able to get my Samsung to play media using TVersity with the profile info from this thread

Been using MC for years. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind words.  Support for Samsung (and other) DLNA is a priority for us.  Did you try the recent builds of MC14?  106 is at the top of this board.

We're working in this area right now, so if you find a build that works, please keep a copy.  We may break it.

Based on the profile, I'd think the current build would play all mp3's for sure (using the don't convert option).
All jpegs and many video formats.
