I've just set up mc on 2 computers networked via ethernet cable....using library server to run the client and most of my files are on both machines...but not all (server has all). It seems to be working ok except that when I play files on the client, the first few seconds are clipped....songs start about 3-5 seconds into the file. I've tried alternate {play > track change} settings on both server and client but no joy. Songs play normally on the server machine. Anyone know what may be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks Jim, but tried that on both machines. Now set at Switch tracks: Standard (gapped) - 2 sec. I just get a longer silence before the clipped song starts. I thought maybe my anti-virus was scanning and delaying but it happens on files residing on the local disc too.

It will probably turn out to be something like that.

I had the same issue with some albums a few builds back. The problem mysteriously went away though when I upgraded my HTPC to the most recent build.
So if you don't run the last build of MC14, that is my tip.

My problem mysteriously went away too.....I did a defrag and a bunch of other system maintenance type things, rebooted both machines and the problem is gone.
