Hi
I have successfully linked MC 14.0.118 via the uPnP server to my LG BD-390 Blue Ray player. I have only tried audio files (ogg and mp3) that work perfectly and images. JPG files are fine but Nikon raw format, NEF extensions, do not display. Of course I can see them perfectly with MC on the host computer.
Is there any way to get these files to display, I have a lot of them? ?

I have also set up the Library Server and am very pleased with its performance across my network. I especially like the sync feature for updating play-lists remotely which I do not think was in MC12, my last version. ;D

A nice addition would be an "auto-sync" option that could be set on the client. This would make it easier to update the server library without having to go to the menu when done.. ;)

MC 14 is real nice and I am very close to making the plunge and updating.

Thanks for the report.  I'll add it to the list in the DLNA Boxes thread on the "Other Hardware" board.

Great... Thanks

What about the image files with NEF extension?

What about the image files with NEF extension?
We will probably add image conversion.

I'm thinking of buying the LG BD390 device because it supports DLNA and has Blue Ray on board.

I read here that MC supports the device, but only read about Audio, does it support video (Xvid, Divx, VOB) too ?

Or are there any other devices that combine DLNA and Blue Ray that I should consider (that works with MC also) ?

There are two threads on the "Other Hardware" board here.

In general, if a DLNA box supports video or images, it should work with MC.  There are still issues with formats that aren't supported.

I bought a LG BD390.
Connected MC14 latest build to it as a Generic DLNA server.

All Video playes fine but no subtitles are working.
(with Nero MediaHome 4 subtitles are working perfect)

Is there any extra setting I need to set for subtitles to work ?

(my subtitles are .srt files)

From what I understand DLNA supports a list of mandatory audio and video formats, and a list of optional formats that a device must/can support. If the device doesn't support the format a file is in, it must be transcoded to something that it does support. This is possible for many audio/image formats in almost real time, but is not possible for video. So you have to store video in a format that your device can play. Is that correct Jim? Also what conversion does MC support at this point?

MC will convert videos the device doesn't support.  Most at least.

You can test DLNA without a device if you have two machines, each with MC running the same version.  Set on up as a renderer and the other as a server.  The renderer can find the server, much like MC can find Library Server.  The server will show up under File/Library.
