We are considering switching over to MC as our default player in our basement theatre which is a CRT projector and a 165" diagonal 16x9 screen. He's skeptical, and wants to keep zoom player (he reminds me that Mastiff, who is as 'connected' in his house as anyone in terms of MC uses Zoom player for his home theatre). I'm the one who wants to switch to MC if possible, because I have it in my head that we could easily browse the movies we have, select the thumbnail of the film we want to watch, and voila; it gets auto-mounted and just plays.
Here's what my husband says MC has to do:
It has to be able to set the framerate to 48Hz.
It has to incorporate the re-clock filter as the direct show audio renderer.
It has to be able to set specific scaling horizontal and vertical dimension profiles.
If it could be configured so that selecting the film auto-mounts it that would be a huge bonus. We use Daemon Tools for .mds and .iso files, and Virtual Clone for .dvd files.
And... all functions should be accessible through intellitype commands (we are using intelli remote by Melloware.
