Bug appeared in DSP Studio ActiveX plugin
« on: January 06, 2010, 02:44:14 pm »

I recently upgraded from 14.0.71 to 14.0.118. I am using and dependent on a number of ActiveX applications for room EQ. (31 bank parametric EQ and FIR filter bank for both time and frequency EQ). I have used the ActiveX host without problems for this. In 14.0.118 >I observe the following bugs:

    * The loaded ActiveX applications running under the ActiveX Host is not remembered after shutting down and restarting MC14. Otherwise they work OK after having been loaded
    * When trying to save the Chain MC14 crashes
    * When starting the DSP Studio window the right part of the window picks up what ever is underneath

Please advice as my soundsystem sounds crap without the room EQ working.
MC is runing under W7

There is a known crash in build 118, but a newer build was posted today.  Please try it.  Reboot after installing.

Hi Jim

Have done the upgrade to version 14.0.121 and a REBOOT.

Did not help on any of the problems!

Do you mean DirectX instead of ActiveX?

If so, hosting of DirectX DSP plug-ins is supported natively in Media Center 14.  You should not use the legacy DirectX Host plugin.  Instead, click the 'Add Plug-in' button in DSP Studio and directly add the DirectX DSPs you want.

Yes it is a Directx plug-in from Anwidasoft http://www.anwida.com/product.asp?pid=11:

The GEQ31V is a professional graphic equalizer plug-in.
It enables the addition of 12 dB of boost or cut at any of 31 bands centered around ISO 1/3 octave frequencies from 20Hz to 20kHz. This features make the GEQ31V the ideal tool for equalizing mixes and audio tracks.

The perspective used in designing the GEQ31V was to obtain the warmth of a classic analog device with the clarity and the accuracy of the digital domain processing. This was achieved adopting the best analog equipment topology.

Available as Audio Unit, VST, DirectX, SAWStudio plug-in.

I have tried to add it as Matt suggest but I can not get it to work. When I enable the plug-in MC crashes?

I'm not a usual player in this field but since I had 5 minutes I gave it a try. The DirectX download of the plugin actually comes with both Directx and VST versions. The Directx one crashes right away, the VST one works. I'm assuming the 3sec gaps in audio (when it works) happens because I used the demo. MC 14.0.96, everything added and run via DSP studio.

You are right. I did not see that opportunity to load VST plugins. It works!!!!

But there is still a change introduced regarding the other plug-ins they crash!!

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
