Changes in MC15 plugin validation? [solved]
« on: March 28, 2010, 01:10:54 pm »

JRiver:

Have you changed something wrt. how plugins are checked in MC15?

I'm getting "PvdImport is not the correct version" when I first start MC15. Then, there is no trace of PvdImport in the plugin manager.

I've inspected the registry and there is a key "HKey\localmacine\software\jriver\mediacenter 15\plugins\interfacepvdimport\IVersion" which seems to toggle from 1 to 0 after the first run after plugin install.

Resetting "IVersion" to 1 makes PvdImport visible/work in MC15.

What gives?

It may be related to this problem:

I don't think so. The message "PvdImport is not the correct version" must somehow originate from MC, I believe. No such message could originate from the plugin, as far as I can see (I made it and I've searched the code for "not the correct version"). The above change in IVersion also happened (happens) after I ported the library AND reinstalled the plugin.

I couldn't find this at first in Windows 7. A search found it at...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JRiver\Media Center 15\Plugins\Interface\PvdImport

Bump...

JRiver, could you look into this please? The exact message I'm getting is "Interface plug-in 'PvdImport' is not the correct version"

IVersion was set by the installer to 0 by default. I thought I checked this, my bad...
